مجموعة الدردشة ليست مجتمعًا · A chat group is not a community

معظم المجتمعات العربية المدفوعة اليوم تعيش في مجموعة واتساب أو قناة تيليجرام. وهذا ليس خطأ. هكذا يبدأ الجميع، لأنه مجاني وسريع والناس موجودون هناك أصلًا.

لكن جرّب أن تجيب عن هذه الأسئلة:

• عضو جديد انضم اليوم. كيف يقرأ أفضل ما قيل قبل ثلاثة أشهر؟
• شخص لم يدفع هذا الشهر. من يخرجه؟ أنت، يدويًا، في منتصف الليل؟
• دورتك من عشرة دروس. أين يعرف العضو أنه وصل إلى الدرس السادس؟
• تريد أن تعرف من الأنشط، ومن صمت منذ شهر. من أين؟

مجموعة الدردشة ممتازة في شيء واحد: الكلام الآن. وسيئة في كل ما يحدث بعد "الآن": الترتيب، والذاكرة، والدفع، والتقدّم.

المجتمع شيء آخر. له بيت يُكتب فيه المنشور مرة ويُقرأ مئة مرة. له فصل يعرف أين وصل كل واحد. له باب يُحصّل الاشتراك وحده ويغلق وحده. وله صفحة أعضاء تخبرك من يزدهر ومن ينسحب بصمت.

وليس عليك أن تختار. أبقِ المجموعة للكلام السريع، وضع كل ما له عمر أطول من يوم في مكان صُنع له. كثيرون يفعلون هذا بالضبط، والمجموعة تصبح أهدأ وأجمل.

Most paid Arabic communities today live in a WhatsApp group or a Telegram channel. That is not a mistake. It is how everyone starts, because it is free, fast, and people are already there.

But try answering these:

• A new member joined today. How do they read the best thing said three months ago?
• Someone did not pay this month. Who removes them? You, by hand, at midnight?
• Your course has ten lessons. Where does a member see they have reached lesson six?
• You want to know who is most active, and who went quiet a month ago. Where?

A chat group is excellent at one thing: talking right now. It is bad at everything that happens after "now": order, memory, payment, progress.

A community is a different thing. It has a home where a post is written once and read a hundred times. A classroom that knows where each person is. A door that collects the subscription by itself and closes by itself. And a members page that tells you who is thriving and who is slipping away in silence.

You do not have to choose. Keep the group for quick talk, and put everything that lives longer than a day in a place built for it. Many people do exactly this, and the group gets quieter and nicer.
