Cookie Policy
Last updated 28 July 2026
Every cookie Nadi sets is strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why you are told about them rather than asked to consent. There are no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies, and nothing here follows you to another site.
- To keep you signed in — one session cookie, until you log out.
- To remember how you like the site — your language, and whether you chose the light or dark palette.
- To give you your free read — the one post you can read without an account is remembered for a week, so it stays free when you come back. It holds a post id and nothing about you.
- To credit whoever brought you — if you arrived from someone’s post or invitation, that is remembered for a week so the community can see which of its writing brings people. It is used once, when you join, and then deleted. It produces a count, never a list, and it is never shared with anyone.
See the exact list — every cookie, what it does, how long it stays
| Name | Type | Kept | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
nadi-locale | Essential | 1 year | Your chosen language, and with it the direction the page is laid out in. |
nadi-consent | Essential | 6 months | Records that you have seen this notice, and any choice you made, so you are not asked again on every page. |
nadi-theme | Essential · local storage | Until cleared | Whether you prefer the light or dark palette. Held in local storage, not sent to the server. |
sb-…-auth-token | Essential | Until you log out | Keeps you logged in. Issued by Supabase, our database and sign-in provider; the middle part of the name is our project's id. |
nadi_peek | Essential | 7 days | The one post you can read without an account, remembered so it stays free on later visits. Holds a single post id — nothing about you. |
nadi_via | Essential | 7 days | Which post you arrived from, so the community you join can see which of its writing brings people. Spent once when you join, then deleted. |
nadi_ref | Essential | 7 days | Which member invited you, so they get the credit when you join. Spent once when you join, then deleted. |
Blocking the essential ones will stop you being able to sign in. Clearing them signs you out and resets your language and theme.
