Going live on Nadi: a guide for community owners
This guide is for community owners who host lives on Nadi. It covers how to set up a live, what to check before you start, the two kinds of live, and what happens to your recording. Each part is short.
Setting up a live
Create an event in your community's calendar. When it asks where the event happens, choose "Inside Nadi".
When it's time, an owner, co-owner or admin starts the live from the event page.
When you create the event, you can also choose to email members a reminder the day before.
Before you go live
Go through this list before every live.
- Host from a laptop or desktop on Wi-Fi if you can.
- If you host from your phone, charge it first.
- Test your camera and microphone.
Two kinds of live
When you start, you choose one of two kinds:
- Stage: you broadcast to your members. They can raise a hand, and you can invite them on stage with you.
- Meet: a group call.
How many people can join
Every live has a limit on how many people can be in it at the same time. The limit is the same on every plan.
Live hours
The Free plan includes 5 live hours a month. Pro and Max have unlimited live hours.
Recording (Pro and Max)
You can record a live on the Pro and Max plans.
When the live ends, the recording takes a while to process. From when it is ready to download, you have 72 hours to post it with "Post to event". If part of the recording is ready later, that part gets its own 72 hours. The event page shows the deadline.
Until you post it, only you and your community's managers can see it. Downloading gives you your own copy, but it doesn't post the recording. Automatic deletion is paused for now, so a recording you haven't posted is still kept after the deadline.
